Overview
Books at Home ("the App") is developed by Rahul Kadyan. This policy explains how your data is handled when you use the App.
Data Collection
Books at Home does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data with the developer or any third parties. All your data stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account.
Data You Provide
- Book information (titles, authors, ISBNs, covers, etc.)
- Reading progress and status
- Personal notes and ratings
- Lending records (borrower names, due dates)
- Wishlist items
Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your library data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- iCloud Sync: If enabled, data syncs across your devices via your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is protected by your Apple ID and iCloud security.
Library Sharing
When you share your library with others via iCloud:
- Only book metadata is shared (titles, authors, covers, ratings, reading status)
- Private data is excluded: personal notes, lending information, purchase prices, and storage locations are never shared
Third-Party Services
- Apple iCloud/CloudKit: Used for sync and sharing (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- Book Data APIs: When searching for books, queries are sent to book lookup services to retrieve metadata
Analytics & Tracking
Books at Home does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Your Rights
You can:
- Export all your data via CSV at any time
- Delete all your data from within the App
- Disable iCloud sync in device settings
