Privacy Policy for Foveate
Last updated: March 2026
Overview
Foveate ("the App") is developed by Rahul Kadyan. This policy explains how your data is handled when you use the App.
Data Collection
Foveate does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data with the developer or any third parties. All your data stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account.
Data You Provide
- Feed subscriptions (URLs, titles)
- Cached article content for offline reading
- Reading statistics (words per minute, session duration, words read)
- Theme and reading preferences (WPM setting, pace profile, haptics)
Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your feed subscriptions, cached articles, and reading preferences are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- iCloud Sync: If enabled, data syncs across your devices via your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is protected by your Apple ID and iCloud security.
On-Device Processing
Foveate uses Apple Intelligence to process article content for optimal speed reading. This processing happens entirely on your device — article text is never sent to external servers for processing. Apple Intelligence availability depends on your device and region (see Apple's documentation).
Third-Party Services
- Apple iCloud/CloudKit: Used for sync across your devices (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- RSS/Atom Feeds: When refreshing feeds, the App connects directly to the feed URLs you have subscribed to. No intermediary service is used.
Analytics & Tracking
Foveate does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Your Rights
You can:
- Delete all your data from within the App
- Remove individual feed subscriptions and their cached articles
- Disable iCloud sync in device settings
